hey folks, i'm leaving this coming monday morning (for the older folies it's kinda like sunday night) to return back to the states.
27th Aug Monday 6AM NW 6
i've had a 4 month break. though techinically half was spent in China. it's been one of the most hectic ones. my luggage bag has been in a permanent state of semi-packed-ness.
so with just 2 more nights to go, i highly doubt that i'll be meeting any more of the class.
to those whom i've met, it's been nice catching up and just crapping on.
to those whom i have yet to meet, real sorry about that. i hope you all are getting along fine. and i'll be glad to play host to anyone who wants to visit Ann Arbor.
there's a slim chance that i might be back again for about 3 days at the end of september to attend my sister's wedding. but i doubt my timetable is going to allow for such a leisurely trip. otherwise it'won't be till next april or may that i'll be coming back. (the uni's real stingy with winter hols)
keep cheery and have a good one!
Hey guys!
Seeing that our blog has finally seen some action, I decided to chip in my 5 cents worth too! So you see all of you out there who're reading all these should carry on blogging and stuff, to like keep it going?
Well first of all, many thanks to anthon, for it sure feels good to be appreciated...haha. =) However, suan was more or less the main organiser this time round, so i merely helped out abit...messaging people, discussing where we should go and stuff. BUT...if you happen to have organised a class outing or sthg lidat...you would have realised what a pain in the ass this can get. Trying to find a date where most people are free...confirming the date/time/place countless times only to find out that people have other commitments elsewhere. Oh but please don't be mistaken...i'm not trying to blame anyone here, cos i'm probably part of the rare few bumming around in NS without a real(civillian) life...haha. Just that it's a teeny weeny bit disheartening to realise that our last outing at sentosa was on the 10th of june. Hmm...what happened to the 3 month uni break?Hey at least this outing's cozier, and we all got a chance to really talk to each other and find out what other people are up to, which really is the point of a class outing isn't it?
Well, hui lin put me to the task of "programming" something which shows the different dates which we are available, so as to find out when our schedules do not clash. Obviously that's not going to happen cos my IT skills are severely limited...but hey for a start, when are the overseas people flying off? Now that school's started, I guess those in uni can only meet up during the wkends too? So...let's see. We got the weekends on the 25th 26th, 1st 2nd and 8th 9th, after which the 15th is lileng's concert/maf, and we can probably meet up for dinner before that or sthg. So anyone keen to step up and organise THE next outing? All you need is a few SMSes to spare and i'm sure all of us will give YOU(yes, you reading this!) our fullest support!
Hoping to hear from someone real soon,
Kiwi. =)
Good afternoon. News for all those cash-strapped people out there-- I have a tuition assignment for you. Or rather, a close friend of mine has an assignment for me, which I am unable to take on due to my imminent departure from this continent (no, not this plane of existence, sorry). J2 Chemistry, contact me for further details.
P.S.: Those who wish to indulge their inner naturalist are cordially invited to view my facebook photos. I have some nice shots of Draco (flying lizard), Sphenomorphis (forest skink)and a few birds if anyone is interested.
P.P.S: Does anyone know where to get Painter software? My thanks.
P.P.P.S: I really,really hate the GST hike.
tsktsk, mr anthon, what lies you have spread! *shakes finger* For those of you who are wondering, that hat is a birthday tool from fish & co. and neway, mr anthon missed most of the action coz he was in the loo... and action here refers to the fish & co staff bringing out a small chocolate cake, giving me a sparkler to play with in the air-conditioned glass house, putting on tt ridiculous hat on me, the band playing happy birthday for the i-lost-count-th number of times that night (and I came late somemore!), suan and the fish&co staff psycho-ing me to stand on my chair with the hat and the sparkler... For those who missed the scene, use your imagination coz I never did stand on that chair! =p (yupz... i'm not a good sport...)
but despite these, thanks thanks THANKS a lot to our beloved suan for planning the surprise belated celebration! *muack* really didn't expect it.. and thanks to the other 4 ppl, for being there and all... it's great to be able to see you guys again and catch up with you...
so yupz, let's meet up again before xy or debs fly (they shld be the earliest ones ba,right?)! let's prove to kiwi that 04s71 doesn't only meet every few months! and neway, how can we not meet up again when ailin is finally back right? ;)
p.s. contrary to what ailin said, i quite like the hk airport. after all, i'm just glad to be able to touch down after all the flight delays, air turbulence, delays in touching down... in a CHINA AIRLINE... eeks!
Sorry couldn't resist it, but you all should really be doing your part for the environment.
Good day mates,
How could there not be a post after another class gathering? After all, these seem to be going the way of polar bears in the North Pole, not to mention the painstaking effort involved in organising it by YOU KNOW WHO. Since the photos are courtesy of my awesome new N95 (ORD phone), I guess it is only right that I blog something. Here you go:
i decided to answer ger's call about posting...
oh for the record, heathrow airport is quite lousy, but so is hong kong's airport... i took more than 1 hour to clear customs because the immigration officer takes more than 1 minute to process each passport -_- and hong kong airport also only allows 1 piece of hand luggage...
the past year has been exhilarating, memorable, humbling etc etc... lots of different experiences and emotions... just got back from China and I actually miss it... well to be exact, i miss the village and the people i've had a chance to interact with... don't know where to start and recount the entire experience... when i've gotten more sleep, i shall elaborate and make our blog seem more alive...
and , yes please meet up!!
