And the story so far...

Good day people,

Thanks for the enthusiastic reponse. So as to stop all you eager beavers from knawing away at my arm, here is a tantalising update on the outing. People indicating interest thus far are as follows:
1. Me of course
2. Kheng Wee
3. Yi Sheng
4. Yuen Mei
5. Shin Wei
6. Lileng
7. Mao
8. Damian
9. Gilyn
These are the people i'll keep in the loop. If I've missed out anyone, start attracting some attention.

The progamme will go something like this.
1. Meet at East Coast Park on a Sat evening.
2. Get bikes.
3. Head to Clarke Quay for dinner (Brewerks does actually have some good food and beer).
4. Leave before the MOS crowd pollutes the place.
5. Transit through ECP again.
6. On to Bedok park (The long ride begins)
7. Push north to Tampines park (This is where mental endurence comes in)
8. Crawl our way to Pasir Ris Park (The end is in sight)
9. CHANGI
Here we can have supper, chill by the beach, scare some ghost, talk to some bapo etc. I've recced the route before and its xiong but managable. However if anyone gets too tired along the way then we'll just change plans to do some ad hoc sight-seeing as if we do reach Changi, we still need to get the bikes back to East Coast (ie. cycle all the way back). Assuming all goes well, we should be able to all fall out by lunch on Sunday.

So there you are. All that I need now is a date we can all agree on and feedback on the plan. Good Friday wkend is not good for me as i'll be busy.

Okay so hang in there and lets look forward to a good time.

As-Salāmu `Alaykum,
Anthon

Pretty Photos

Dear friends, allow me to direct your attention here. Stockholm is a pretty place.

How's everyone doing? It just snowed/hailed/sleeted a few days ago and I am utterly miserable due to the cold.

ITS TIME

Haha my sentiments exactly Kheng Wee.

Hi to my dearest one and only 71nnies... esp. the guys,

I think we are all in need some good ol male bonding again to break the monotony of NS life. How does nite cycling sound? I know we've all been there done that, but you know if it ain't broken... Anyway, what I need is suggestions on places we can go, things to do, tentative dates etc. What I can come up with now is just Changi Village and "last call" at clarke quay (hehheh). But dun worry, I've been doing some research and have quite a few ideas in mind. Surprisingly, Singapore is becoming quite interesting and cycling is the perfect way to checkout its nooks and cranies. Plus this new park connectors thing should allow us to trawl the island quite easily and safely.

OK so no more procrastinating and lets get this thing moving. I've also decided to stop being lazy, so I'll be the conducting for this one. Some Répondez s'il vous plaîtl would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I don't screw this up otherwise it would be Mr. Kheng to the rescue again.

We live in an equal opportunities society and that is why I'm opening this up to the women too (no more "girls" lah...all of you hit/hitting 20 already) From past experience, its gonna be quite shag but helllotsa fun so bring along your endurance if coming. Hmm if enough of you are interested then perhaps we can modify the outing to include only modest amounts of cycling.

In the meantime, you all be good and hopefully we'll catch up sooner rather than later.

Oh and did I mention that I'll be in the NDP flag marching contingent... exciting stuff

Cheers,
Anthon
