yes okay, the girls' nite out has been changed to a jie meis outing.... suan suggested a farewell for mao... yupz so anybody who can make it just turn up yah....
Date: 1st april 2006 (Sat)
Time: 6 pm
Venue: Meet at cityhall mrt... we will decide where to go.... come wif suggestions lah...
pls confirm attendance by smsing/ tagging me or suan or li leng!
weeeeee! i escaped from army for 6 hours! muahahahahahahaha. yays. i miss jc life...
Wah i doubt anyone will want to do the quiz lileng posted after looking at the length of the post! =P Anyway, yupz it's me again...trying to revive the blog...but first of all, can we go for girl's nite out? Like, special invites for the guys who are not confined in ocs or sthg...haha...i'm sure you all know how sian and miserable our lives can be...we can be your jie meis for one nite!
Anyway, like the slacking damian, i have access to the internet everyday, just that 4 pcs are shared among dunno how many pple so it's rather pathetic actually.512k somemore...heard that the ocs bunks have their personal pcs inside?Haha...my room is so small! There's only a passageway in the middle for us to walk and the beds are all on both sides of the room so it's rather crammed as compared to BMTC...
Hmm...life as an MP...is quite different from what i expected. Contrary to popular belief...it's not that slack! Haha...the physical training every morning is very xiong! All the running...pushups...whateva and to think that we're going to have 4.8km run every other day starting from next wk...=( But well at least i'll be fitter after my course which ends on the 18th of may...haha cos i got remedial training thanks to the psychometric retest which made me miss IPPT! Can't imagine how depressing it is to see your friends book out while you work out...haha
Btw, by the SAF act chapter 295 (i''ll figure out which section it came from soon), we are not supposed to say anything about the army to pple outside the SAF, blogging included...so i'm actually breaking the law, even though i'm enforcing the law! Haha...quite fun lah, can study military law...how to guard POWs, guide traffic, transport pple etc...oh and depending on where we get posted to, we might even conduct drug raids, arrest pple, guard the detention barracks or doing some investigations and classified stuff! By then i think i shouldn't say too much lest i get sent to DB with double the charge...But of cos i think training dogs more fun lah...oh and i realise MPs are very powerful pple...by section 166 we can book anyone in the SAF and even civillians if they commit an offence within SAF boundaries! So slacking damian...stop slacking ah...=P
That'll be all for now...cyall on 1 april?? =D
heyoz... to all girls!! can u all make it for GIRLS' NITE OUT :) on 1st april, it's a sat. yah it's not an april fool's joke arh... pls tag or sms me or li leng kayz!! hope to see ya!!
Hohohohohoho.
I'm in signals! Hohohohoho!
This is darn amusing.
I see someone else beat me to being the first guy to blog about pop. Haha.
I wanted to type something yesterday, but the moment I got back and finished my dinner and taken my bath, exhaustion just overwhelmed me and I just knocked out.
But anyway, like what kw said in his entry, we have finally passed out of the damn island called tekong. And now we are no longer recruits.
From now on, its PRIVATE Yeo. And we get to keep longer hair. Hoho.
The Parade was funny. I dunno why. Haha.
I found it hilarious to be marching with my platoon mates, keeping in file and stuff. And all the hush whispering to one another in panic stricken voices, to 'turn now!', 'dressing! dressing! dressing!', 'start marching now!', 'don't faint!' just made it all the more funny.
But it was really a great show of team work lah. The fact that so many rag tag boys could come together in the end and at least march together as a giant block of a contingent.
As they love to say it in the army, 'Outstanding!'
And yes, like what kw said about me not going to command school, yes, I definitely won't be going to command school because I missed my Sit Test, which apparently accounts for quite a high percentage for command school entry.
HOWEVER, I must correct something that kw said in his entry... which is that I missed it out of pure laziness! I, of course, did not do that. (humph)
I did it because I valued the value of short lasting freedom during weekend book outs and thus, decided to sacrifice my place in command school for some other better deserving soul, while I got my book out that week.
A win-win situation! See! People (and I) benefited from it! So we should all be happy and continue living our happy little lives! =D
(But of course, I never wanted to enter command school in the first place, even if it could get me a place in med or not. So yes, missing sit test was just one of the many steps I took to ensure I definitely couldn't get into command school, which I could go on about, but that would only bore all your pants of... so yeah. Let's get on with OTHER boring stuff, shall we?)
I see (and hope) that you all have been doing something constructive with your lives.
And I also hope you all do have stuff planned for the next week, to celebrate the guys' passing out. And of course, to give you girls a break from work.
Come on! You can't tell me that work is extremely wonderful! I know it sucks, so why not take the opportunity to have a major break with us! Go party! Go let loose! Go be WILD!
But of course, any stuff planned for the next week or so, would not witness my participation, because I'm being a snoot who is jealous of a majority of you who got your 4 As when I didn't. Humph. (Haha)
But more importantly, its because I'll be away in Perth from 13th to 19th, on the leave of my kind PC who allowed me to go overseas during this block leave. (I guess its his way of repenting for his sins over the last 9 weeks, so I'm not complaining.)
So yesh. I will be away in Perth, where it'll (hopefully) be somewhat cooling and not as hot as tekong S'pore, visiting my brother with my mom, and getting a good break from the dregery of army life.
So have fun at your outings people, while I have fun in the land down under.
Thats about all for now.
I have to update my own blog. Seeya!
Wah our tagboard seems so active...so many tags but how come no pple blogging ah? All u lazy pple...haha since yisheng is the first pop guy to tag, then i shall be the first one to blog!
Yupz 9 weeks have finally passed...definitely a great feeling to finally get out of tekong, but im sure we will all miss life as a recruit...but POP was quite fun! The flurry of emotions...sense of excitement when you march into the parade square thinking you look so seh( oh but you all should have seen hanjie and the drill squad!)...cheering and photo-taking...we're finally liberated!! First time the sergeants were like our friends, smiling at us (they're probably hoping that we won't screw up the parade so that they can be finally relieved of their duties...haha) Oh and i saw officers getting taopok-ed and thrown around in the air!haha that evil feeling is very shuang! =)
But alas, damian and I won't be getting into command schools cos he's so lazy that he missed the situational test and i failed my ippt!that stupid sir...ever so strict with pull ups...haiz!i'll be like the poorest guy in the class...and i must probably salute anthon or sthg!oh man...i thought i can finally say "**** *** understand!ah nvm knock it down!" or "never do together, start from zero!"
Anyway, regarding the outings...let's have as many as possible! Right...abit hard to organise so many stuff when we got like so many ideas...so many other things we wan't to organise...but maybe we can have kbox after the ah yat on 18th?then...have lunch, skate, badminton and dinner on 1 day! Must chiong liao...if not we'll all get fat!let's have some PT sessions too! =)
kk...dying to see you all!probably during the uni open house-es? jiayou ba organisers! i don't mind helping out since i'm free for now...haha...
heyys. i see that the blog's been active again. i've got net access at my hostel which lets me see the blogger pages. real glad about that. so you guys are all in school waiting for your results. i bet it's out by now. coz it's almost 3pm. but i won't know yet coz my sis is collecting my results for me. *groan* the govt should be banned from causing us such agony.
anyway. i've been in shanghai some 12-13 days. i've been walking around a lot. it's like the most common form of transport. there's also the subway which is realy convenient. and over the weekend i went to Da Guan Yuan, the English translation is Grand View Pavillion the place where they shot Hong Lou Meng, Dream of A Red Chamber. and i went to Tong Li. it's another water village. there's like many water villages. Zhou Zhuang, Xi Tang, Wu Zhen, Tong Li and Zhu Jia Jiao. the first is the most commercialised and is visited mostly by tourists. Tong Li still retains it's village charm. there are less shops and more residences. and many things to see. and if the weather holds, i may go horse-riding this weekend. it's been raining the past few days. only clearing up today but that means that the weather's been getting colder. my guess is that it should get warmer soon.
the guys have got block leave right? and the girls can go holidaying too! do come up here for a holiday. flight duration is about four and a half hours. Singapore Airlines flies to shanghai 4 times a day. budget airline tix are cheap and the march holiday may mean some promotions which you can take advantage of and book some tickets. i may be able to offer room space. especially if you're a girl. if not, motel 168 is a good chain of motels at about S$70 per day. food's not expensive if you eat their local fare and anyone looking for a change in climate can think of coming here. xiaolongpau, wanton soup and all kinds of dumplings are plentiful. weather's gonna be cold to cool till at least early to mid april. or later.
my class is in the afternoon on mondays and fridays and in the morning from tue to thur. i may be taking up cooking lessons, chinese tourism and culture and maybe wushu if time permits.
anyways, shanghai city can be covered in about 5 days or so. maybe a little more. but if you wannna tour the jiangnan area you'll be needing more time. and that'll need more preparation. alternatively, the local tourism offices offer day trips out of the city some may be a couple of days.
okay that's enough. best of luck and cya!!
